• Each guess must be similar to a 5 letter word, but with one letter shifted 1-3 steps in the alphabet in either direction. (eg. SNAKE → SNANE)
• Valid words are not allowed. Wrapping around the alphabet (eg. SAINT → SZINT) is not allowed.
• The color of the tiles will change to show how close your guess was to the word.

• Swap Shiftle is a separate gamemode with its own daily words. It's like regular Shiftle, but you can swap 1 pair of tiles per row for more hints.
• You can swap tiles by double clicking on the two you want to swap, dragging one on top of another (PC), or long pressing them (Mobile).
• You can switch between normal and swap shiftle by clicking on the icon of 2 arrows in the top right.
